While research on school improvement is now into its third decade, systematic research on what the principal actually does and its relationship to stability and change is quite recent. The purpose of this study is to determine to what extent the understanding of assessment adopted in the renewed Primary Education 4th and 5th grade Science and Technology Curriculum is reflected in textbooks – student course books, student workbooks and teachers’ books- prepared by the related publishers and approved for use by the Turkish Republic of Ministry of National Education. The purpose of this study was to explore and investigate perceptions of the primary school teachers’ in 4th and 5th grade public schools on new science and technology curriculum in science and technology classes in Turkey. Whether primary school teachers familiar with the improvements in science and technology curriculum and whether they feel themselves adequate in terms of theoretical knowledge and application of the new approaches in science and technology lessons were also investigated.

The Career Experiences Of Deaf Supervisors In Education And Social Service Professions: Choices, Mobility And Networking A Qualitative Study, Denise Kavin, Kim Brown-Kurz,

In this qualitative study, the researchers interviewed eleven deaf and hard of hearing
professionals holding supervisory positions in educational and social service professions regarding factors that have affected their career experiences, specifically regarding choices, mobility, and networking. The respondents shared their experiences navigating the career ladder, including strategies used to move forward in the workplace such as networking and the use of technologies. Common threads such as tokenism and merit, communication access, and self-imposed limitations related to career choices, mobility, and networking were identified and discussed.

Private higher education institutions have traditionally relied heavily on tuition revenues for their operation. Historically, these colleges have realized 80-90% of their operating revenue through tuition funding, making them reliant on their ability to attract and retain tuition-paying students (Gansemer-Topf & Schuh, 2006). This means that they are not only more tuition dependent than their public university counterparts (Summers, 2004), but that they must forecast expenditures and revenues with tremendous accuracy.
