The purpose of the project was to develop a workshop to provide on the job training for aides in secondary special education programs in Bremerton, Washington. A needs assessment was conducted to determine the validity of the perceived need and to identify and prioritize training areas. Existing training programs were examined and a literature search conducted. The resulting training model was designed to increase the effectiveness of aides and thereby maximize the delivery of instruction in special education.

Reliability Of Selected Health And Performance Related Test Items From The Project Unique Physical Fitness Test Inventory, Gene A. Daquila

This study was conducted to determine several psychometric qualities on selected items from the Project UNIQUE Physical Fitness Test Inventory. Coefficients of reliability (consistency within day and between day) were determined by intraclass techniques. The standard error of measurement was also determined for the selected items. In addition, the appropriate criterion score was determined by an analysis of variance and collaborated by an analysis of the superdiagonal of the inter-trial correlation matrix. The problem of this study was to determine if young gifted and talented students who participate in a special program of the fine arts score significantly higher on tests of intelligence, language arts achievement, creativity, and personality than young gifted and talented students who do not participate in the program. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role and importance of the program specialist's position in the California Special Education Local Plan Areas and to ascertain the primary responsibilities of the program specialist's position.

Procedures. Ninety-seven California Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs) were surveyed.
