Plants are sessile organisms; they cannot move like animals when the environment is not favorable. Therefore, plants need a mechanism to cope with environmental changes. For example, when a plant experiences stress, like water deficit, it will employ a certain mechanism that allows the plant to survive the next exposure (see Fig. 1), often referred to as “Epigenetic” regulation. By application, epigenetics deals with the changes of the level of the gene expression without change in the DNA sequence, by DNA methylation, histone modifications, and or small RNA regulation. Musical elements from Northeastern Brazil served as a source for Brazilian nationalist art music. Its principal representatives are Villa-Lobos and Camargo Guarnieri. According to José Maria Neves, “Brazilian nationalism [a musical movement] is essentially neoclassical with respect to formal principles and language: it employs classical forms (suite, sonata, variations, etc.) and traditional melodic and harmonic structures using elements of Brazilian folk music.

Despite all efforts to control malaria, the disease remains a burden in Africa, especially in Burkina Faso. In other ongoing field studies conducted in Kenya, researchers have identified ways to improve malaria vector control strategies useful for accelerating the elimination of the disease. These studies often review two methods of fighting malaria: indoor residual spraying (IRS) using organophosphates, and genetically modified bacteria for larval source management.
