Application For Sabbatical Leave And Sabbatical Report, Amy F. Penne

Sabbaticals

I plan to use my sabbatical to 1) renew myself professionally through a series of teacher's retreats with Parker Palmer at his Center for Courage and Renewal, as well as a conference trip to Indianapolis for the Conference on College Composition and Communication; and 2) study with Palmer and through his Center to eventually become a "Circles of Trust" facilitator (defined later in this proposal). My sabbatical is designed to reconnect who I am with what I do; I need this sabbatical to reclaim my original passion for the teaching of writing and the teaching of writers. My retreat with …

Institute for Educational Development, Karachi

This paper answers a pertinent question: Who are the teachers of English in Pakistan? By answering this question, the current profile of teachers of English is highlighted. We were inclined to do this study because there was no data available in Pakistan. Data for this paper was generated through a survey questionnaire, which was filled out by 100 teachers of English over three years. Out of these 100 teachers, 53 teachers were from public sector schools, 29 teachers from communitybased English‐medium schools, and 18 teachers from private Englishmedium schools. Improving Enrollment In The Construction Management Graduate Program Through Students’ Perspectives, Mouloud Messaoudi Jan 2014

Improving Enrollment In The Construction Management Graduate Program Through Students’ Perspectives, Mouloud Messaoudi

Master of Technology Management Plan II Graduate Projects

Low enrollment and the decrease in graduation and retention rates are challenges facing the growth of the Master’s in Technology Management – Construction Management (MTM-CM) program at BGSU. In addition, the competition between the universities to enroll and retain more in-state, out-of-state, and international students is aggressive. There is a need for a revaluation for the MTM-CM program in order to attract more students in the future. This study is a necessary step to know what the MTM-CM students think about the product delivered to them at BGSU. There was no prior study investigating the satisfaction level of the construction …

Education Policy And Social Justice: Exploring Possibilities Within Education Policy Context Of Pakistan, Sajid Ali

Institute for Educational Development, Karachi

Looking from this perspective the policies in Pakistan have historically focused only on distributional justice, albeit with dismal progress on this front. However, they have completely ignored the attainment of ‘relational’ justice as a policy objective. As a result power differentials not only exist but worsened through educational policies such as undermining of public schooling while encouraging privatization of education …
