The learning outcomes for this presentation are as follows: *Reconceptualize identity development to be more inclusive of differences within and across identity categories such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, class, ability and religion. *Learn strategies to enhance the quality of the learning environment within *Explore with colleagues the way in which we can effectively create or build multiracial/multiple identity communities while also supporting students individually. *Learn methods to integrate research, practice, self reflection and professional development to best serve students and our profession.

This presentation focuses on the transition of undecided high school students who are struggling with defining their next steps into the world of work. Special attention will be given to strategies related to students desiring a career in the trades or post-secondary vocational training. This Power Point presentation accompanies the webinar that was conducted for attendees of the OSCA-NOSCA Workshops in the Winter/Spring of 2012 to provide an opportunity for further discussion of how the Eight Components and Parent/Family/Community Partnership materials that were received can be utilized to transform counseling practice and create a college-going culture in one's school/district/community. It provided time to share best practices, ask questions and share concerns and in general, more fully reflect on and digest the many topics that were introduced at the workshop.

The development of Transfer Assurance Guides (TAGs) and Career Transfer Assurance Guides (CTAGs), the “Acceptance of D” statewide policy, new policies on the acceptance of Advanced Placement Exams, and now the Electronic Transcript Clearinghouse has changed the face of transfer in Ohio in ways that will be far-reaching in effect and will change the way we all send and accept transfer credits in Ohio. At the Counselor Roundtable Session, held on Tuesday, January 24th at the Columbus Renaissance Hotel, attendees were presented, in no particular order, with a list of ten “Hot Topics” to discuss. In the interest of time, attendees voted for the five topics they were most interested in discussing and those are listed below the master list, in order of interest level. Each topic was discussed for only 10 minutes with participants suggesting strategies/solutions. When possible, the person providing the idea/resource is listed by name and school.
