The Relationship Between Moral And Ego Development And Treatment Foster Parent Effectiveness And Attitudes, Brent Gentry Richardson
Dissertations, Theses, and Masters Projects
An extensive review of the literature on foster parent effectiveness yielded only one study (Horner and Ray, 1990) specifically focusing on "treatment" foster parents. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between moral and ego development and treatment foster parent effectiveness and attitudes. The Defining Issues Test, Washington University Sentence Completion Test, and Adult-Adolescent Parenting Inventory were administered to 103 treatment foster parents and the Treatment Foster Parent Effectiveness Scale was completed for each of the foster parents by their primary caseworker. The design was descriptive utilizing correlational comparisons between each of the variables. Additionally, the variables …

Choice Theory: A Review And Trial Use Of A Responsibility Model Of Discipline, Cynthia L. Parsons
Graduate Research Papers
Student behavior and classroom discipline have been growing concerns for many years. This paper is a review of the literature relative to the Choice Theory model of classroom discipline and behavior as proposed by Glasser ( 1969, 1985, 1990) especially as compared to the traditional ways that schools have used to manage student behavior. (Choice Theory was known as Control Theory until 1996, when Glasser changed its name to better reflect its primary goal, which is to help children learn how to make better choices). The focus of this paper is a description of what Choice Theory is and how …

Improved student/teacher relationships, increased decision making skills, greater collaboration and sharing of ideas, and an enhancement of community service projects are benefits that …
The Vital Element, Jennifer Mcnab
The Vital Element, Jennifer Mcnab
Graduate Research Papers
Integrating technology into curriculum requires educators to have a working knowledge of using technology in the educational setting. However, technology integration is often an oversight in staff development. Educators are more likely to use technology to their full potential if a support system is in place and proper training of how to use technology in their classroom is available.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how educators use computers to enhance the learning experience for students. Educators from around the United States answered the request for sharing motivational ideas for incorporating computers into the classroom. These innovative activities …

School-University Partnerships: An Exploration Of The Relationship, Daisy Bertha Wood
Dissertations, Theses, and Masters Projects
The purpose of this study was to investigate the accuracy of a particular model for collaboration when applied to a successful school-university partnership. A specific framework for establishing and maintaining successful school-university partnerships, proposed by Frank Wilbur of Syracuse University, was identified in the literature.
