The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of administrative discipline procedure, teacher/student relationship, student achievement, student attendance, and student conduct on the decision by students of Stephens County High School to drop out of school. Results indicated that teacher/student relationship does influence the decision to drop out. Further, these teachers are more likely to be female. Administrative discipline procedure can affect the decision to drop out. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between teacher attitude and student failure rate, teacher attitude and teacher discipline referrals, and teacher discipline referrals and student failure rate.

Twenty Atlanta Public School teachers were selected to participate in the study. Consideration for selection was made on the basis of teacher discipline referrals, exemplary classroom management, and low and high failure rate.

The purpose of this research was to study the equity values of principals and teachers and to determine if there existed a relationship between values reported by teachers and principals and behaviors demonstrated by teachers in the classroom. Further, the study investigated the relationship between teacher perception of principal equity and teacher equity performance in the classroom. Statement of Purpose. The purpose of this study was to assess junior college students' prevalence of condom use, risk behaviors, attitudes toward AIDS, and sources of knowledge regarding AIDS. Method. The descriptive survey research technique was used. Subjects. One hundred and two subjects participated. Instrument. The instrument was developed, by the writer, and field-tested. Findings. The data indicate that the subjects surveyed in these two studies, are not taking seriously the recommended life-style changes for risk reduction. Conclusions. There is a performance gap in our society. Most African-American schools are scoring at or near the bottom in most school districts. This study examines teachers' perceptions of a principal's routines to identify actions that contribute to improved achievement of African- American children.

Information was obtained from a search of literature, and survey questionnaires were sent to teachers in a highand low-achieving school in Fulton County. The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree to which student discipline referrals were related to teachers' perceptions of discipline procedures in addition to other variables such as student grade level, administrative teacher rating, teacher sex, teacher experience, and ITBS scores.

The study was conducted through the use of a validated 28 item questionnaire designed and field tested through several Performance Assessment Laboratories. This study investigated whether metacognitive skills training would have any effect on the comprehension of southeastern, urban students in a high school compensatory reading laboratory. The pre-experimental one-group design was used for subjects in an eighth and a ninth grade class. Instruments used in data collection for pretest/posttest analysis were the Metacomprehension Strategy Index and the Plasment Reading Achievement Lab Test. The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitudes of household adults toward the homeless in a survey of residential subscribers to a major random digit telephone utility in the City of Atlanta, Georgia. The survey form for data collection used a Likert-type and thermometer-type instrument which was developed by the principal investigator and a panel of social scientists. The research was structured to determine if principals' leadership behavior was related to the absenteeism, job satisfaction, and retention of special education teachers. Further, the research examined the impact of principals' preparation in special education on their leadership behavior. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and Analysis of Variance.
