Since the exploratory courses were intended to provide students a broader outlook for making decisions concerning their occupational preparation, it was necessary to determine what effect the DE 8 course had on student selection of DE 10 at Abingdon High School. Therefore, it was proposed that the exploratory DE 8 course had no effect on student choice in selecting Fundamentals of Distribution (DE 10) as a tenth grade elective course.

Validate a prepared list of identified woodworking competency tasks by means of a survey submitted to the advisory committee; 2. Develop those competency tasks selected by the advisory committee into competency based instructional units; 3. Validate the prepared list of developed competency based instructional units by means of a survey submitted to the advisory committee; 4. Prepare and submit to the research director a list of the validated competency based instruction units.
