Hospitality is an ever-growing area of academic inquiry. While some studies relating hospitality theory to the education field exist, there is a gap in the literature at the intersection point of hospitality theory and private Christian school enrollment practices. This case study seeks to explore the relationship between three theories emerging in hospitality research - social exchange theory, social identity theory, and the commitment trust theory of relationship marketing - and the theological and pragmatic guidelines for private Christian school enrollment offices.

This action research project examined the various perspectives around effective board governance of current and former board members and administrators working in covenantal Christian schools. The survey, administered to participants working with covenantal schools across Canada, contained fifteen questions related to effective board governance components. Participants were also able to provide anecdotal qualitative feedback if desired. The results of the study revealed that there is notable agreement as to the importance of various components related to effective board governance in covenantal schools; however, there are a few areas where boards in covenantal schools may have opportunity for growth. This quantitative research study used a student engagement survey to measure the affective, behavioral, and cognitive engagement of students at three small suburban Christian schools that offer career and technical education to their students. The survey asked students to rate the level of their agreement to statements about their engagement in learning. The students represented all four grades of high school. Survey results were analyzed to compare engagement based upon participation in CTE courses, including courses that offered dual credit. This mixed-methods study began with a survey sent to all CSI superintendents followed up by interviews with a purposeful sample of six school leaders to discover perceived relationship models that exist between Christian schools and homeschool families. Analysis of the qualitative and quantitative data was done with the intention of gaining a deeper understanding of the current relationship models that exist between Christian schools and homeschool families and to understand the benefits and barriers of the given relationship models. The Christian education movement has suffered in recent decades, as hundreds of schools have closed. Many more schools are losing students and are not experiencing growth. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore how three mid-size Christian schools were showing positive student enrollment growth. The collective case study methodology was used to examine the phenomenon in three private Christian schools. The purpose of this qualitative-phenomenological study was to understand how Christian school graduates view their lived experiences in their high school education in relation to their Christian spiritual formation (CSF) and to understand the Christian high school experiences associated with highly developed CSF. This action research project investigated the reasons for the current teacher shortage in the Federation of Protestant Reformed Christian Schools. The research was a descriptive survey study with parents, teachers, and students serving as respondents. Three surveys were designed to measure perspectives about teaching and motivations for both becoming and remaining teachers among members of Christian schools from a Reformed Christian background. The survey results indicated some correlation with previous research, especially concerning the financial aspects of teaching. Enrollment in independent schools in the U.S. has been in decline for 15 years. Faith-based schools have experienced more significant decline than non-religious schools. School leaders have been struggling to find solutions to prevent further enrollment loss and to promote future growth. The purpose of this study was to explore the reasons parents decide to enroll their children in a faith-based schools. The purpose of this study was to explore board members' perceptions of their roles at an independent Christian school. The study was exploratory and interviews were used to elicit the members' perceptions. The participants included eight board members and the head administrator of a K–12 Christian school in the Midwest. Interviews were conducted with each participant two times during the school year. Questions focused on topics derived from the available literature dealing with public and private school boards and from the experience of the researcher. Qualitative data analysis methodology was used.
