The purpose of this research was to investigate relationships that may exist between the supervisorial style and conceptual level of university supervisors and the student teachers supervised. The primary thrust of the investigation was an analysis of the match of style and conceptual level of supervisor and students. This analysis resulted in data concerning the influence of the match on supervisor effectiveness. The total population of the study included 187 student teachers and 37 supervisors at two university sites in California. Problem. It is the researcher's opinion that most of the educational administrators in Iran have not fully realized the significance of practice teaching programs in developing and providing competent teachers. As a result, there is no planned design, no guidelines, no model to perform and fulfill the practice-teaching experience, i.e., the absence of a consistent program that includes a practice-teaching component.

The purpose of this study was to determine if differences existed between the perceptions of secondary school teachers and the perceptions of principals regarding the appropriateness of selected inservice education practices in the amelioration of specific instructional difficulties. Ancillary purposes of the investiga·tion were to determine if perceptual differences existed among teachers when they were grouped by experience, sex, and teaching assignment.

An Examination Of The Relationships Between Teacher Effectiveness And Patterns Of Professional Preparation, Carl Raymond Stutzman

The purpose of this study was to determine what, if any, relationships exist between beginning teaching effectiveness and patterns of professional preparation. Specific objectives of the study were to: (1) identify the component parts of the preparation of most effective and least effective teachers, (2) determine if such components constituted patterns that can be identified, and (3) determine if such patterns, if present, are related to teaching effectiveness.

It was hypothesized that there are no significant relationships between teaching effectiveness and patterns of professional preparation of first·-year elementary school teachers.
