The purpose of this study was to gather and apply statistical treatments to measure the perceptions of California continuation high school principals relative to the effectiveness of various non-classroom actions in combating student truancy. The difficulty in developing an effective program of teacher evaluation is seen in the literature as stemming from the administrators' and teachers' different perspectives of evaluation. In this tenor the problem investigated four facets of an evaluation process: the need, purpose, procedure, and result of a teacher evaluation program found in evangelical Christian schools. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of administrative pre-service training under Ryan Act programs. The study was concerned specifically with (1) determining the competencies considered most important by principals, (2) determining the adequacy of training on identified competencies, (3) determining if principals from the elementary, junior high, and high school levels had different competency needs, and (4) determining if principals from the elementary, junior high, and high school levels view the adequacy of their training differently. Problem: Women, although comprising the preponderance of the teaching force, are represented in small numbers at higher level school district administrative positions. Their numbers have been decreasing :in California despite federal and state laws mandating equal opportunities for women. The low proportion of women in these positions has been attributed to their lack of qualifications, their lack of aspiration, and their poorer performance as administrators. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to select a sequence of steps as a model change process and then compare that sequence with the steps followed by the Berkeley Unified School District during the change process embodied in the development and first year's implementation of its Experimental Schools Project.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to describe the California Opportunity Program and to determine if the program was meeting its legislative mandate to assist students in resolving problems impeding success in regular classes.

It was the purpose of this study to analyze the status and role of student activities to propose the scope and duties of the position, and to establish criteria for qualifications, selection, and appointment of these co-administrators in California public high schools.
