This thesis will trace the major developments in the field of health education in the public schools or the Territory of Hawaii from the beginnings made in 1009 to the present time. Some attention will be paid to developments on the Islands or Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai; but the greater emphasis will be placed on the work done on the Island of Oahu.

It is the purpose of this study to make a complete recreation survey of Lodi with the idea of determining the need for a community sponsored recreation program. Lodi as a community is anxious to develop the welfare of its citizens. With the advancement and betterment of the community in mind, the results of this report are to be studied, checked, and acted upon by all groups interested in a community recreation program. For the purpose of clarification, recreation will be treated as leisure-time activity as for most people the opportunities for it are largely confined to their leisure hours. …
