Nontraditional students have personal obstacles they must overcome in their journey through college. These barriers differ from traditional students and can include feelings of isolation and a sense that their chosen institutions are insensitive and inflexible to the particular nontraditional student needs. In this quantitative, causal-comparative study, the researcher sought to determine if students’ satisfaction, as measured by the Student Satisfaction Inventory, differed based on student status (traditional or nontraditional) and health science program (nursing, dental hygiene, or radiologic technology) enrolled at technical colleges of Georgia. The purpose of this quantitative, causal-comparative study was to analyze the differences of perceived overall satisfaction scores (organizational structure, technology usage, and curriculum design) between Caucasian, Latino-American, and African-American undergraduate students enrolled in an online program, as measured by the Cultural Diversity Satisfaction Survey (CDSS) instrument. This study compared the differences between three distinct diverse groups for overall satisfaction in an undergraduate online general elective course. The study participants were undergraduate students enrolled in an online general elective course in Virginia, n = 433. Teacher retention has long been a major issue in the educational sector. In today’s schools, effective teachers are a necessity for meeting the fluctuating needs of society. The purpose of this quantitative, correlational, predictive study was to examine the relationship between satisfaction, motivation, and caseload in relation to teacher retention for elementary special education teachers in southwest Virginia. This study incorporates the Three C’s of Education theory (Sher, 1983) and the influence of characteristics, conditions, and compensation. Non-experimental research with a correlational design was implemented along with the criterion variable (retention) and the predictor variables (satisfaction, motivation, and caseload). Are potential relationships among students' learning styles and effectiveness in online education moderated by subject matter for undergraduate students at a private higher education institution? This causal relationship correlational study evaluated the effects of subject matter as a moderating variable between students learning styles and effectiveness of distance education (DE). Students in online English courses and online math courses at a private university located in the southeastern United States completed the Index of Learning Styles (ILS) instrument and an end of course satisfaction survey. Executive Summary: Every other year the Office of Survey Research (OSR) contacts recently graduated Western students to inquire into their current activities and ask for their retrospective thoughts on their Western experience. In the spring of 2012 we surveyed alumni who completed their undergraduate degrees between summer, 2010 and spring, 2011. This report details the questions asked on that survey and summarizes responses for the university and by college and department. Initially, OSR solicited responses using e-mail contacts. These were initiated in July, 2012. Nonrespondents received two additional requests and then OSR contacted non-respondents by telephone to request their participation. …

The graduate exit survey is a quarterly survey of all graduate students set to finish their degrees. This survey is fully explained and documented in “2010 Exit Survey of Graduate Students Completing Degrees Fall 2009, Winter 2010, Spring 2010, and Summer 2010” which may be found on the Office of Survey Research’s website (http://www.wwu.edu/socad/osr/). This addendum breaks down the data from that survey by college and department. Hopefully, this data will provide a finer degree of analysis allowing departments and colleges greater latitude in their self-evaluation efforts.

Since 1990, Western’s Office of Survey Research (OSR) has surveyed alumni every other year. Alumni who are one to two years past graduation are invited to participate. They are asked to reflect on their experiences at Western, and about their current situation regarding family, education, and employment. OSR uses a mixture of online and telephone survey methodologies, then, when applicable, links survey results with Western’s student records, thus expanding their usefulness to researchers. Western’s first Alumni Survey was conducted in 1988; it’s development and administration was in response to the Higher Education Coordinating Board (HEC Board) requirement to survey graduates every biennially. Western was done so diligently and reliably since. Twenty years on, as academic concerns have changed, so has the survey; however, the original “fourteen common items” proscribed by the HEC Board have remained. Similarly, the administration of the survey adapted: from a paper-and-pencil only mail-out form to the current on-line and telephone method. Executive Summary: To provide some background for ongoing conversations concerning Western's GURs, relevant findings were collated from ten different surveys conducted on Western students and alumni over the past ten years. There was no central thesis and is therefore no central finding to summarize. However, some highlights from particular findings can be offered. •Most students are supportive of the idea that Western should offer a strong core of liberal arts instruction rather than primarily technical skills, although in practice GURs are not treated as seriously or valued as highly as courses in the major. • Students' satisfaction with their GUR …

Western's recreational facilities, espe¬cially indoor facilities, fall notably short of those of the other regional universities and of that which is typical of well-funded private universities. On the other hand,"Western students have selected to attend Western, we know them to be very active in intramurals, and they express extremely high satisfaction with Western and with Western/Bellingham as a place to live. Executive Summary: Repeated studies in recent years, both at Western and elsewhere, have found students less satisfied with advising services than with instruction or various university services. For example, 77% of recent Western alumni are "very" or "mostly" satisfied with the undergraduate courses they took at Western, while 41% are similarly satisfied with the academic advising they received from all sources at Western. Satisfaction with advising received from faculty and major departments was lower than satisfaction with advising from the Academic Advising Center. Executive Summary: This report compiled information gathered in interviews with a sample of personnel managers and direct supervisors of organizations employing Western Washington University graduates from one to three years after their graduation. Personnel managers were questioned first. When asked to rate their emphasis of nine qualities of general employment, work or internship experience received the highest ratings of "great" emphasis. Having a broad liberal arts background received the highest ratings of "little" or "no" emphasis. A majority of personnel managers preferred that employees be flexible (47.4%), or valued skill training and flexibility equally (41.8%). It was also discovered that …
