Communities of Practice (CoP) are groups where users who share the same interests can discuss a particular practice while sharing resources, tools, and work arounds. With a unique business model and product line as well as a significant portion of Mabey Inc. employees in remote locations, a CoP will bridge the communication and distance gap to make learning and development easier and more fluid. Mabey Inc. chose to install Yammer to facilitate their CoP. Traditional methods to evaluate research performance focus on citation count, quality and quantity of research output by individual researchers. These measures overlook the roles an individual plays in research collaboration, which is critical in an institutional research management environment due to the inherent interdependency among research entities. In order to address the organizational research management needs, we propose a research social network approach to better analyze local collaboration networks. For this purpose, we develop a new “collaboration supportiveness” measure to quantify an individual researcher's collaboration ability. The report documents the economic value of the Rosen College of Hospitality Management (RCHM) to the Metro Orlando area. The purpose of estimating the economic value of the program is to calculate the increased economic activities in the Metro Orlando area as generated by college degree attainment through the RCHM. The report is the result of an assignment commissioned by the Dean of the RCHM. The report assessed the economic impact of the alumni of the College during the period from 2000 to 2012. Favourable graduate employment outcomes are critical for future enrolments in higher education. Enrolments fund higher education providers and ensure a continuous supply of graduates to enhance organisational effectiveness, national productivity and global competitiveness. Recent evidence suggests the global financial crisis has softened graduate labour markets. Stakeholder concerns for graduate career prospects and the adequacy of return on investment from studying at university prompt exploration of those factors which influence graduate employment outcomes. Background: The selection methodology for UK general practice is designed to accommodate several thousand applicants per year and targets six core attributes identified in a multi-method job-analysis study. Aim: To evaluate the predictive validity of selection methods for entry into postgraduate training, comprising a clinical problem-solving test, a situational judgement test, and a selection centre. Design and setting: A three-part longitudinal predictive validity study of selection into training for UK general practice. Method: In sample 1, participants were junior doctors applying for training in general practice (n = 6824). In sample 2, participants were GP registrars 1 year into training …

Andragogy is an educational philosophy on how to facilitate active learning for adult students. It requires instructors to engage students in various learning activities, including problem solving, essay writing, discussions, group projects, and so on. The challenge is how to facilitate student participation and assess learning outcomes. The emergence of e-learning tools, such as Discussion Board, Wiki, Blogs, and Wimba provide technical support for the new learning approach. Based on the review of information systems and education literature, this study develops a taxonomy of e-learning tools. One of the best things about IMSA that never changes is that we continue to change, not “change for change’s sake,” but change to keep learning, leading and innovating, change grounded in who we are and who we aspire to be. One area of big change on the horizon relates to upgrading our facilities.
