Ouachita Baptist University’s annual Ouachita Singers and Women’s Chorus spring concert will be held on Tuesday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall on the Ouachita campus. The concert is free and open to the public. Ouachita Singers, fresh off their spring break concert tour in Italy, is Ouachita’s premier choral ensemble and is directed by Dr. Gary Gerber, dean of OBU’s School of Fine Arts. “At each concert, the choirs present a variety of choral music performed in an excellent way,” Dr. Gerber noted. Ouachita Baptist University’s annual Ouachita Singers and Women’s Chorus fall concert will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall located on OBU’s campus. The concert is free and open to the public. The two groups also will release their new CD, “City Called Heaven,” for sale at the concert for $15 each.

Women’s Chorus meets to practice three times a week. In addition to performing in the fall concert, the Women’s Chorus travels to local churches to sing.

Ouachita Baptist University will host the Ouachita Singers and Women’s Chorus in concert on Monday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in McBeth Recital Hall. The concert will be free and open to the public and will be professionally recorded for a new CD due for release in the fall.

Ouachita Singers includes 39 students who rehearse three times weekly to prepare for their performances. The group is under the direction of Dr. Gary Gerber, dean of the School of Fine Arts.
