The university library can be reconceptualized as a powerful engine for open culture. A generative and regenerative center that naturally brings disciplines, cultures, and generations together, the university library can expand its role in open culture far beyond sharing institutionally-produced research and data through open repositories. The main purpose of this research is to determine physical education teachers' educational beliefs and the study was conducted in relational screening model. A total of 240 people participated in the study, of which 73 were physical education teachers and 167 were candidate physical education teachers. As a data collection tool, "Education Beliefs Scale (EIO)" was used in the study. Descriptive statistics and t-test technique were used to analyze the data. In the study, progressivism was found to be the educational philosophy with highest agreement from physical education teachers. In addition to this, it was observed that they agreed with …

The paper discusses the efforts of the Ministry of the Empire of Brazil to influence programs of studies in secondary schools that were subject to the exclusive authority of the provincial governments. The Court’s inability to directly affect education in the provinces during the Empire (1822-1889) can be attributed to the Additional Act, which amended the Brazilian constitution in 1834. From the founding of the College Pedro II, a model secondary institution in the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro, in 1837, to the founding of the Republic in 1889, the Imperial Court proposed a series of successful and unsuccessful measures …

Just as Marx's insights into capitalism have been most strikingly vindicated by the rise of neoliberalism and the near-collapse of the world economy, Marxism as social movement has become bereft of support. Is there any point in people who find Marx's analysis useful in clinging to the term "Marxism" - which Marx himself rejected -- at time when self-identified Marxist organizations and societies have collapsed or renounced the identification, and Marxism own working class constituency rejects the term? The Affordable Care Act allocated $250 million in 2010 for disease prevention via four critical priorities, including Public Health Training and Research & Tracking. Education for African Americans has historically been linked to the broad movement to improve their lot in life. Ceaselessly, from slavery and Jim Crow, toward full membership in American society, schooling was as much about academic learning as it was for ensuring the sustainability of the community in which the school was situated. In this research we explore the ways in which the right to adaptable education is realized by high-school literature curricula designed for the Jewish and Arabic sectors of the Israeli National-Education Stream. Literature studies have a special role in the realization of the right to adaptable education in light of their contribution to the formation of a rich perception of the self. The methodology used is two-layered: first, elements of adaptability in each of the texts are traced, and than a critical examination of aspects of adaptability in the curricula is conducted. This article addresses the unique role performed by social foundations programs in colleges of education and in addressing broader issues facing education today, which fundamentally include the development of interpretive, normative, and critical perspectives in academia. All three perspectives serve to create a scholarly framework within which students and academicians interpret and normatively reflect upon existing educational, political, historical, religious, economic, and social institutions critically. This short paper examines the history of Tapa in order to show that the fifteen kesakesa designs identified as trade mark worthy by Air Pacific/Fiji Airways are a significant part of the cultural heritage of the iTaukei peoples of Fiji. It will also show that Tapa and the designs/motifs found within tapa are often shared cultural designs across the Pacific. The position taken is that all forms of cultural heritage expressions must remain the intellectual property of their indigenous owners from whom this knowledge, skills and art forms originate.
