The aim of this interactive workshop for educators and administrators is to promote cultural awareness and reflect on the impact that our own cultural influences have on the teaching and learning process. This interactive session will also allow professional educators and leaders to apply culturally informed practices to foster positive school climate, learning and academic achievement relevant to a widely diverse student population. Students need and want to be heard and valued. It is extremely important for schools to be creative when choosing initiatives. Initiatives or any program implementation must be interesting and relevant to the diverse populations of students and their needs. It's time for schools to "Plug In." "New Outlets" are a Must. This workshop will provide educators with tools and strategies to use to build and sustain effective programs while working with Youth-At-Risk.
