There were three main goals of this study. First, utilize technology in a non-conventional way to enhance student's study process. Second, gauge if the students access such a tool when it is available to them. Third, assess the student's learning based on the study tools available. This project also examined if there was a difference in comprehension of post-World War II era information between students who use the online test preparation program and those that received only traditional instruction.

Thus, environmental education lessons need to incorporate strategies used in multicultural education in order to be more culturally inclusive. The focus on this study was on improving the oral reading fluency of third grade students who struggle in reading. One third grade teacher and six of her students participated in this 4 week study that examined the effect on fluency of newspaper reading and various constructive reading and engagement activites. These six students were assigned to an Optimal Learning Model pull-out fluency instruction using the newspaper as text. Results from the Developmental Reading Assessment instrument reveal significantly improved effects in the number if miscues, correct words per minute, and prosody for the six students. The purpose of this project was to study how Reciprocal Teaching can best serve students in a third grade classroom for reading comprehension. A curriculum was developed to help the classroom teacher find a better way to teach reading comprehension using four important reading strategies: predicting, summarzing, clarifying and questioning. Assessing Online Assessments: A Comparison Study Of Math Assessment Tools For Third-Grade Students, Tina Kim Chan

The study reported here examined the move towards online assessments and addressed the question of whether or not different assessment tools affect student scores and student learning. The research activities covered a three-week period, from June 5, 2006 to June 23, 2006. During this time, seventeen third grade students served as their own control group by taking several math tests online and several math tests with paper and pencil. Results were compared to see if performance on computer-based tests would be more successful than pencil-and-paper tests.
