This study is designed to determine the reasons and possible solutions for the low teacher-advisor participation in the Tidewater area, and their attitudes toward the American Industrial Arts Student Association. The results of the study should determine why certain teachers have American Industrial Arts Student Association chapters; the reasons why certain teachers are totally against advising AIASA chapters; some of the benefits of advising a chapter; and finally what incentives the state and district associations could offer to promote more individual chapters.

The purpose of this study was to determine a need for in-service training for Virginia Beach industrial arts teachers related to career education. Virginia Beach industrial arts teachers were sent a questionnaire dealing with statements commonly made about career education. The results showed that the teachers misunderstood many of the basic concepts of career education.

The purpose of the study was to establish through experimental research an improved method of accelerating the seasoning of bowl blanks. Specifically the study was conducted to determine: 1. Whether a worthwhile method or methods were available for accelerating the seasoning of wood bowl blanks; 2. Whether the blanks were of suitable quality; 3. Whether the method or methods present a worthwhile learning experience; 4. Whether the unseasoned wood and the equipment used in seasoning were available, safe, and within reasonable financial means.

Electrometallurgical industries comprise an important segment of the world's manufacture of metal products. These industries involve three major categories: electrowinnowing, electrorefining and electroplating. Electrowinnowing consists of purifying raw ore to a relatively pure metal by electrolysis. Extraction of aluminum from bauxite is an example. Electrorefining involves electrolysis of metallic solutions to recover or produce extremely pure metal. Recovery of precious metals is often done by electrorefining. Electroplating involves the coating of one metal or object with another metal for various reasons.
