The unique set of impairments and limitations presented by students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) make the accessing of campus-based nonacademic resources more difficult and complicated than their typically developed peers. Each year, the rate of students entering college with disabilities continues to grow, but their mental well-being is relatively poor. As the nation’s high school student population becomes increasingly diverse, the declining number of minority teachers, particularly African American male teachers is becoming an area of concern. This instrumental case study of African American male high school teachers in the Fayette County Public School system in Lexington, Kentucky sought to identify the motivations for teaching, the barriers prior to and during teaching, as well as the roles these individuals are asked to fulfill in their schools. The Decision To Pursue Pharmacy Residency Training: Motivators, Barriers, And The Fear Of Missing Out (Fomo), Ashley Stubblefield Crumby

To examine the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) on student pharmacists when making postgraduate career decisions, including whether to pursue a residency. Data collection involved survey self-report (mixed mode approach) among student pharmacists (P2-P4) at four participating universities, to identify postgraduate residency intentions as well as the motivators and barriers associated with this choice. The survey included a 14-item FoMO scale designed to examine the influence of this factor in the residency decision. 42% indicated an intention to pursue residency training; the desire to gain experience was identified as the main motivating factor driving this decision.
