Students’ Perceptions For The Use Of Computers In Elementary Schools, David Thomas Richardson

In this thesis, the author examines Rochester public school students’ perceptions of computer use in the classroom and at home, given their very limited access to school computers. The researcher surveyed 152 students from grades 4-6 using measures created by the author and modified according to teacher recommendations. Survey results showed that students had an overall positive perception of computers. Students saw computers as a ‘fun’ learning tool and used them play games, perform internet research, and type homework assignments.
