Regardless of how excited students may be about college life, even the most independent freshmen can find themselves battling homesickness. Homesickness is not a black and white phenomenon; rather, it is best classified by the degree of homesickness one feels. Homesickness is very easily misinterpreted by some as a student missing his/her bed, home, etc. However, homesickness is best classified by a longing for what was familiar, what was comfortable, and what was normal.
