A Study Of Spelling Errors Made By Milford Second Grade Children During 1966, Athene Roberts

All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023

Spelling is the writing of symbols to represent to other people the words and thoughts in the mind of the individual who is writing. Rarely, if ever, does anyone want to write a word which he has not used orally or which he has not heard. The task of spelling correctly is to be sure these symbols are the ones which are accepted and recognized by others (Hanna and Hanna, 1959).

A Study To Determine The Attitudes Of Master's Degree Recipients In Elementary Education Toward Courses In The Required Program At Utah State University, Clifford Russell

All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023

It was believed by this writer that it would be impossible to establish a degree program which would fulfill the needs of and satisfy all students. For this reason; it was impossible to objectively evaluate the effectiveness of the requirements for a Master's degree. However; it seemed that the opinions of recent degree recipients would provide a primary source of information for evaluating the relative merits of required courses and experiences. The Dean of the College of Education at Utah State University indicated that this important source of information about the Master's degree program in elementary education had been largely …

A Pilot Study To Determine The Characteristics And Acceptance Of A Mobile Office Education Classroom To Serve Small High Schools In Utah, Arlyn N. Anderson May 1968

A Pilot Study To Determine The Characteristics And Acceptance Of A Mobile Office Education Classroom To Serve Small High Schools In Utah, Arlyn N. Anderson

All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023

For many years the office practice curriculums in the small high schools in Utah have been incomplete. Small high schools generally do not offer the same opportunities for learning as larger high schools due to the lack of funds, a smaller student body, and a shortage of trained personnel. Their distance from larger metropolitan areas where office opportunities are more readily available has made it economically unsound to offer such training programs and facilities. Often, students do not receive adequate training to prepare them for entry level jobs upon graduation from high school.

Students graduating from small high schools must …

The Father Role As Seen By A Group Of College Student Fathers, Devona Alice Dean Luke

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

Some literature implies the modern father has abdicated his place as head of the family, but little research has been done to examine the role of the father in the modern American family.

Intensive interviews of 18 college student men who each had at least two children showed that these men are very much concerned with fatherhood and participate actively in the rearing of their children. They feel the father has at least as much responsibility for the rearing of their children as the mother, possibly more. They are involved more in some dimensions of parenthood than others. Those fathers …
