A follow-up study of those students who exited the Manpower Office Training Program at Southern Utah State College, Cedar City, Utah, during the period from September l, 1974, through August 31, 1976, was conducted. Of the 49 students contacted, 48 responded to the questionnaire.

The purpose of the study was to determine the extent to which the curriculum of the Manpower Office Training Program at Southern Utah State College, Cedar City, Utah, met the needs of the students. The majority of the Manpower Office Training Program students obtained employment in the related clerical/secretarial field upon completion of the program.

As early as 1926, typewriting began to change from a strictly vocational skill to a multi-use skill that included nonvocational aspects. Since the skills required for vocational purposes are not the same as those required for personal use, typewriting instructors developed courses for those interested in learning personal-use typewriting.

Preparation for the graduate recital provides the Master's candidate an opportunity to exercise a variety of musical skills. Choosing the best possible program requires not only a working knowledge of the available repertory, but a personal assessment of the particular voice with its characteristic strengths and weaknesses. The final selection must reflect a fine balance of material difficult enough to provide a musical challenge and material with which a singer can feel comfortable in communicating.

A Comparison Of Leadership Potential Between Physical Education And Recreation Majors At Utah State University, Karolyn Carroll

The purpose of this study was to compare the leadership potential of students from upper level division students majoring in Physical Education as compared to students majoring in Recreation. Two psychological tests were utilized to measure leadership potential between these groups. They were the Leadership Ability Evaluation and the Leadership Q-Sort Test, which yielded data in 12 variables.

Analysis of this data revealed that there was significant difference at the .05 level in three of the twelve variables. A comparison of all means for the two tests favored the Recreation majors over the Physical Education majors in leadership potential.

A Study Of A Possible Predictor Of Pilot-Error Aircraft Accidents In The State Of Utah, Garn O. Huntington

It was the objective of this study to determine to what extent automobile driving records may be used in predicting the occurrance of pilot-error aircraft accidents.

An analysis was conducted on all pilot-error aircraft accidents in the state of Utah during the time period of January 1, 1972 through December 31, 1973.

Although the total calculations were not significant, the evidence indicates that the pilot who receives many automobile driving citations will be involved in more pilot-error aircraft accidents. A trend was established with age and the Weighted Citation Index, with 70.69 percent of the grouped classes correctly classified.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the teacher education program in the Department of Elementary Education at Utah State University. The program has been in effect for only a few years and the department desired that an evaluation be conducted to determine its present strengths and weaknesses.

The procedure used to collect data for this study involved several instruments. Letters were sent to 150 universities in the United States to determine what they had done to evaluate their teacher education programs. Questionnaires were sent to 399 graduates from 1974, 1975, and 1976 to ask their …
