This research study was conducted using a qualitative case study with a phenomenological touch. The particular phenomena studied in this research is the assistant principal role as preparation for the principalship within a large metropolitan school district in the southeast. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore ways African American families, with middle school students, view learning mathematics and engagement within a theme school environment. The participants in this study included nine parents and ten students at an urban Title I theme school. The data collection process included two focus group interviews, nineteen semi-structured individual interviews, journal entries from each participant and 15 documents disseminated to parents from the school and from the district. The participants in this study included three University System of Georgia teacher educators, one Georgia K-12 virtual school administrator, and two Georgia K-12 virtual school educators. This study provided a descriptive analysis of learning outcomes in both online and face-to-face grades 9-12 physical science courses. Archived data from a single school system were used for a comparative analysis of learning outcomes in high school physical science between students enrolled in online classes and students enrolled in face-to-face classes. The study compared two years of summative assessment scores of two student groups and, overall, found equality between the two learning environments. The purpose of this research was to develop an efficient and effective process for marketing educators to use in the teaching of an undergraduate marketing research course. Instructors should consider the use of readily available auditors’ data for pedagogical usage in a semester-long courses. While guest speakers have a lot to offer, the traditional format of their visits to marketing classes may hinder student engagement. This paper describes an idea used in marketing classes intended to increase active learning and to maximize impact of guest speakers’ visits. It involves creating assignments for the students to prepare prior to a speaker’s visit. As a result, the students end up preparing thoughtful questions, they are engaged in their discussion with the speaker, and they make a more conscious effort to link course material to the insight from the speaker.

Malicious code detection is a critical part of any cyber security operation. Typically, the behavior of normal applications is modeled so that deviations from normal behavior can be identified. There are multiple approach to modeling good behavior but the most common approach is to observe applications’ system call activity. System calls are messages passed between user space applications and their underlying operating systems. The present research explores situations that demonstrate enhancing effects on motivation based on the amount of choice seen by individuals. Individuals who are intrinsically motivated see more choice in certain academic settings, including those that foster self-regulation and autonomy. Extrinsically motivated individuals are predicted to see more promise in reward and external regulation strategies. We identified six separate situations: a free will situation, a learning of materials situation, an instructor feedback situation, an extra credit situation, and two time-based situations. Specifically, the current climate for social justice is considered and discussed using examples from an university-inspired service-learning initiative, law, and politics. Background: Participation in aerobic exercise generates increased cardiorespiratory fitness, which results in a protective factor for cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality. High-intensity interval training might cause higher increases in cardiorespiratory fitness in comparison with moderate-intensity continuous training; nevertheless, current evidence is not conclusive. To our knowledge, this is the first study to test the effect of high-intensity interval training with total load duration of 7.5 min per session. Principals and assistant principals currently serving in Florida and Georgia school districts were surveyed about their perceptions of university educational leadership preparation and professional learning. The results revealed that many principals and assistant principals agreed that university educational leadership preparation programs enhanced their overall preparation, school leadership, and school law. However, participants disagreed that leadership preparation programs assisted them in managing school budget, data analysis, and human resources. Participants overwhelmingly indicated that school districts provide meaningful professional learning opportunities and that they prefer job-embedded learning experiences over university preparation.
