The purpose of this study was to examine the status of the Des Moines (Iowa) Independent Community School District school-business partnerships. The nature of partnership creation, maintenance, and evaluation was explored in 65 adopt-a-school partnerships using the Concerns-Based Adoption Model (CBAM). Data were collected and summarized using two instruments: the School-Business Partnership Questionnaire (SBPQ) and the Innovation Configuration checklist (ICC). The SBPQ was designed and developed by the researcher in conjunction with a panel of practicing partnership directors. A trainer's managing behaviors in facilitating training programs were assumed to be contingent upon a variety of variables. Studies on the trainer variables suggested that a trainer's educational background, educational orientation about adult teaching, educational philosophy, and organizational climate and expectations were part of the factors affecting the trainer's teaching practice. This investigation focuses on retention as it is related to the organizational environment and socialization; gender equity in these areas; and factors affecting retention decisions. A questionnaire was sent to probationary faculty, faculty who had received tenure within the last three years, female full professors, and a sample of male full professors at Iowa State University. Second, a causal model of learning for undergraduate nursing students was developed and tested. In the 19th century, synthetic dyestuffs replaced natural materials that had been used for thousands of years. This research examined the transition of one dyestuff, madder, found in plant roots, to its synthetic counterpart, alizarine, discovered in 1868. Records of ten American dye or print works were located in five museums, libraries, and historic associations in Delaware, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. This study investigated the relative effectiveness of two instructional methods on the recall and transfer of procedural knowledge. The moderating influence of fluid aptitude was examined. An attempt was made to identify the type of cognitive processing induced by the instructional methods. The major purposes of this study were to describe families operating bed and breakfast operations in New York State, explore family coping behaviors used by bed and breakfast operators, and examine factors affecting life satisfaction. Results were analyzed from responses of 174 bed and breakfast operators to a questionnaire that elicited data on coping behaviors, demographics, time management, and life satisfaction. Mean scores of coping behaviors indicated that bed and breakfast operators appear to employ most frequently coping behaviors in the maintaining perspective/reducing tension coping pattern. This exploratory study investigated the relationship between student-teacher learning style match/mismatch and perceived stress and the effect on academic achievement. This study utilized the causal-comparative research method to examine differences between teachers and non-teachers on the following factors: (1) academic indicators; (2) job orientation; (3) participation in high school extracurricular activities; and (4) willingness to choose a teaching career again.
