There were three primary purposes of the study. The first was to determine teachers' opinions of alternative compensation plans including: (a) reward components, (b) evaluation components, and (c) overall type of plan. The six types of plans studied were: "Merit Pay with Salary Schedule", "Merit Pay Without Salary Schedule", "Monetary Incentives", "Nonmonetary Incentives", "Career Ladders", and "Supplemental Pay". The primary purposes of this investigation were to analyze the effect of rater bias and to determine the degree of reliability of teacher evaluation ratings from a school district using a career ladder advancement system for teachers. The primary purpose of this investigation was to analyze the relationship of administrator time on instructional leadership, teacher perceptions about instructional leadership, and school effects which measured school learning climate. This analysis attempted to establish a causal pattern among the variables which would explain the way these variables combine to influence school effects. This study was conducted for the purpose of identifying discriminating, reliable, and valid criteria for evaluating counselor perfermance which could be used by local schools in constructing a new or refining an existing evaluation instrument. This study examined whether training would increase the level of confidence of school administrators in selected teacher evaluation components;A cross section of Iowa's administrators and supervisory personnel, both in terms of level of experience and geographical location, were represented. The sixty-four participants included 12 superintendents, 13 secondary principals, 18 elementary principals, 18 supervisory personnel and 3 college professors representing 11 females and 53 males;A pretest/posttest design was used.
