The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of enhancing an already existing day treatment program for youth with severe behavior disorders. The intervention consisted of a short-term parent therapy group which operationalized elements of attachment theory and narrative therapy and then compared this to the program's regular treatment. This group focused on assisting parents (1) to review their past for a coherent story, (2) to identify and utilize a parenting strength, and (3) to voice their hopes and fears to their child with an emphasis on the child's potential. This study compared two units of instruction for overcoming difficulties of beginning programmers in understanding and implementing strategies of indirect addressing. One of the units emphasized the algorithms in which indirection was used, whereas the other unit emphasized indirect notation. Both instructional units were delivered by computer to two introduction to Pascal programming classes. Students in each class were randomly divided so that each student used one or the other of the two units;These units were used prior to and were supplementary to three lectures covering indirect notation. The purpose was to examine undergraduates' perceptions of the nature, frequency, and possible justification of dishonest behaviors in relation to ethnicity (African-American, White American) and religious involvement (low, medium and high);Fifteen dishonest behaviors were presented. Those rated "definitely cheating" were: taking an exam for another student, copying from someone's exam, giving or receiving signals and/or answers during an exam, using unauthorized exam notes, turning in a commercially prepared paper or one written by another student;Behaviors considered "probably cheating" were: bringing information to an exam on a disc, arranging seating in advance to facilitate copying, turning in ...
