The present study was undertaken to explore the relationship among the variables: the mother's vocational orientation, the mother's educational level, the mother's masculine personality traits, the mother's feminine personality traits, the mother's perceived vocational orientation of her daughter, the mother's desired vocational orientation for her daughter, and the vocational orientation of the daughter. Two models were developed and tested using 101 mother-daughter pairs. All subjects were White and middle class. Agricultural education in the land grant university is an integral part of the total educational process of the university. Little or no attempt has been made to assess the resource use in agricultural education. The purpose of this study is to assess, using economic criteria, the agricultural education programs in the land grant universities of the north central region. Practical nursing education existed in Iowa as early as 1891 within some of the state institutions for the insane. These programs were intended to provide a work force for the institution, rather than an educational opportunity for students. State licensure for practical nurses was not imposed until 1949. Interest in the development of practical nursing programs in the mid 1940s was a direct result of the severe shortage of nursing students. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of an instructional packet on supervised occupational experience programs in terms of student agricultural knowledge achievement after two and one-half years. The study was a posttest only control group (true experimental) design. Students (in 16 schools that had been randomly assigned to the experimental treatment group) provided data for comparison with data from students in the 16 schools that were similarly assigned to the control treatment group. An eighteen-variable path analysis model was developed that traced the effects of varying degrees of leadership style through paths of student characteristics and student perceptions of teachers and those teachers' supervisors;A series of least-squares regression and errors-in-variables regression analyses were performed to obtain path coefficients showing the strongest paths to two measures of student productivity.
