My Life's In Shambles: Examining Interpersonal Relationships As A Moderating Factor In Reducing Post-Graduate Stress, Iniki Franklin

This study examines whether interpersonal relationships serve as a moderating factor in reducing post-graduate stress. A researcher developed survey was used to gather data and examined three areas: interpersonal support, perceived stress, and self-optimism. Interpersonal support encompassed familial and peer relationships. Perceived stress encompassed anxiety and depression symptomologies. Self-confidence encompassed graduates’ individuation and optimism levels regarding major life tasks after commencement. Perceived stress and self-confidence levels were also used to identify how interpersonal relationships impacted graduates’ interpretation of stress. This study will examine the online behaviors of two samples of adolescents, ages 12-19, who identify as Muslim. One sample will come from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Atlanta, Georgia and complete a 27-item questionnaire. The researcher will investigate how both samples utilize social media and if they are more or less inclined to showcase socially aggressive behavior and political activism as a result.

This study examines the relationship between school support, family support, community support, teen parenting programs and postsecondary education among teen mothers in North Carolina. The sample consisted of 212 participants who became teen mothers between the ages of 13-19 and have since attained postsecondary education. The variables used for the study included the following: school support, family support, community support, teen parenting programs, resilience, and mentoring. This thesis examines mental health utilization amongst African-American women. The study specifically investigated the factors that may predict help seeking behaviors: depression, stigma, African acculturation, mistrust, and religious commitment. The study also examined the role demographics has on African-American women utilizing mental health services. The study examined the following demographics, income, age, marital status, and education status. The sample size consisted 40 African American women, with ages ranging from 18 to 65. This study examines mentors’ perspective and level of satisfaction with the elements of effective practices among girl mentoring programs in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. The sample consisted of mentors who served at-risk girls. The variables analyzed included the following: recruitment, screening, training, matching, monitoring, support, and closure. Explanatory design was used to generate the study and the purposive and snowball sampling was utilized to gather the analysis. A total of 125 respondents participated in the study. This study examined the relationship between customer service and student satisfaction at a historically black college and university. Student satisfaction was measured by student engagement, student recruitment, and student retention. Participants of the study were comprised of 485 undergraduate and graduate students from a historically black college and university, and they were selected utilizing non-probability convenience sampling among the target population.
