The purpose of this study was to compare couples who experienced a pregnancy early in their courtship, late in their courtship, or not pregnant at all on their development of behavioral interdependence across three levels of involvement; regularly dating, a couple, and committed to marriage, and into marriage. Data were collected by means of a semi-structured interview schedule which permitted couples to retrospectively graph their courtship from the first time they met until marriage. The purpose of the is study was to identify a common core of behaviors as perceived by elementary teachers who work with socially and emotionally disordered (S-ED) students. Fifty elementary teachers were randomly selected from a pool of 525 teachers to participate by giving perceptions. The teachers rank ordered ten general, ten socialization, and ten communication asocial behaviors in terms of these behaviors' detrimental effect on instruction. The purpose of this study was to find out if a teacher’s verbal or nonverbal behavior is more successful in redirecting a student's attention in the classroom. Three specific student behaviors were observed---daydreaming, distractive talking, and doing assignments for another class. Three twelfth \ grade English teachers in a Duval County high school gave the observer permission to visit their classrooms and observe on ten different occasions over a period of eight weeks. Observation sheets were kept and tallied on each teacher. A total for all three teachers was then tallied and analyzed according to a chi-square routine. The results …

An experiment was conducted to determine whether reduced sugar diets improve learning and/or alter behavior in normal children . The 14 Ss--seven males and seven females- -were elementary school students, ranging in age from 8.01 to 10.06, matched for age, sex, race, and SES, and screened for med i cation and learning disabilities . They were sequentially assigned to low- sugar and usual diet groups for two - and four- week periods . In a pretest-pottest design, assessment instruments were a paired- associate (PA) learning task and a Nutrition Behavior Inventory {NBI) . The pretest mean NB! indicated at least …
