Perception Influenced By Phenomena: Identify Core-Subject Teacher Perceptions Of Career Technical Education, Sheri Lynn Tucker

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

The purpose of this study is to identify the perception influenced by phenomena impacting core-subject teacher perceptions of career technical education (CTE). Studies show that CTE is highly successful at preparing California’s students for college and career (Friedman, 2006). However, some educators see “CTE maintain less value in helping to encourage student success” (Shanklin, 2014, p. 3). The phenomenological study examined the perception influencing lived experiences with focus groups and one-on-one interviews. Core-subject teachers participated in these face-to-face interviews. Findings show that core-subject teachers are biased against CTE. Analysis of the survey results determined perception influenced by phenomena experienced ...

Project Based Learning Course Integration For Elementary Science Methods, William Dwyer

Q2S Enhancing Pedagogy

I have revised my syllabus to integrate PBL into my course, Science/Health Curriculum and Pedagogy in Elementary School (EELB 532), for this current term. I am teaching this course for the third year at the Palm Desert campus. Throughout my career as an instructor in teacher education, I have promoted PBL to my science methods students; however, this term is the first time I have integrated PBL into my course by making it a major course assignment.

The purpose of this study is to examine, gain, and ultimately share an understanding of certain cognitive differences, similarities, intelligence patterns, and preferences between competent monolingual (English) and multicompetent bilingual/multilingual first-year composition (FYC) college students. Within this project is an attempt to address the following questions: Do monolingual and bilingual/multilingual FYC students show different strengths and weaknesses in their cognitive abilities? Are there learning preferences and literacy differences or similarities between monolingual and bilingual/multilingual FYC students?

Primarily, two cognitive concepts were used in this examination to provide perspectives and quantitative data in response to the above questions ...

Q2S Enhancing Pedagogy

SCIPP redefines and expands the existing notions about what makes for a vibrant and robust community of practice by partnering CSUSB students and professors with K-12 students, parents, and educators, along with committed community partners. SCIPP encourages curiosity in ways that leads to critical thinking, exploration, "risk taking", confidence building, open-mindedness, and other personal traits that equip them with the softskills to be active, critical, and creative contributors to our communities. SCIPP pedagogy embraces our students' collective wisdom and focuses on relational building where multi-directional communication is promoted and students are viewed as equal stakeholders in their own educations. A Systematic Review Of Process Modelling Methods And Its Application For Personalised Adaptive Learning Systems, Kingsley Okoye Jan 2019

A Systematic Review Of Process Modelling Methods And Its Application For Personalised Adaptive Learning Systems, Kingsley Okoye

Journal of International Technology and Information Management

This systematic review work investigates current literature and methods that are related to the application of process mining and modelling in real-time particularly as it concerns personalisation of learning systems, or yet still, e-content development. The work compares available studies based on the domain area of study, the scope of the study, methods used, and the scientific contribution of the papers and results. Consequently, the findings of the identified papers were systematically evaluated in order to point out potential confounding variables or flaws that might have been overlooked or missing in the current literature. In turn, a critical structured analysis ...
