This paper represents a study of the activation of iii a student council and its effects on total school climate. The activation program was outlined with specific activities described in detail. The study was designed to provide for a comparison of predetermined indicators which were measured before and after the activation took place. Conclusions included positive observations made during the course of the study and recommendations for implementing more student involvement in the ongoing business of the school.

Transfer Of Serial Position Effect To Paired-Associate Learning, James Lloyd Beckles

The experiment was designed to evaluate the role of position in serial learning. In the position learning task, subjects learned two serial lists presented alternately, then learned a subsequent paired associate list consisting of items of the previously learned serial list. The paired associate list contained three types of pairs; the same position-same pair, different position-same pair, and different position-different pair. The findings of the experiment supported the position hypothesis that if position is the cue for the recall of the item in a serial list, then, a subsequent paired associate list that is made up of the two previously …

This study investigated the validity of the general ability factor, Factor B of the Early School Personality Questionnaire(ESPQ), in two ways. First, validity coefficients for Factor B were obtained by computing product-moment correlation coefficients between the ESPQ Factor B raw scores of 40 developmentally disabled subjects and their raw scores on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R). Second, the Kruskal-Wallis rank sums test and a distribution-free multiple comparisons test were employed to determine if there were significant differences among the mean ESPQ Factor B raw scores of subjects designated as mentally retarded, learning disabled, or normal. Problem. During the last ten years there has been a surge of Interest among college students in short-term volunteer missionary service. It was the purpose of the present study to describe the personality, attitudes, and overseas experience of a group of 150 Seventh-day Adventist college students who served as short-term volunteer missionaries (student missionaries) during the 1975-76 school year. Method The Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (Form A), a series of semantic differential rating scales for selected religious, mission, cultural, and personal concepts, and a two-part questlonnaire were used to describe the personality, attitudes, and overseas experience of the student missionaries. …
