According to the laws of the State of Washington, school districts, administrators, and teachers are liable for all of their torts. Since principals are not immune from tort suits, the purposes of this study were (1) to suggest measures to minimize exposure of principals to tort suits, and (2) to suggest measures of protection against such suits.

The purposes of this study were (1) to identify the school district officers who devoted full- or part-time duty to the promotion of public relations; (2) to identify the types of communication that they employed; and (3) to compare such factors as the previous position held by the public relations officer to the present position held by the public relations officer, the area of emphasis public relations program receives to the competency public relations officer feels in emphasized area, and the size of district student enrollment to the desire for the establishment of full- or part-time public relations positions.

The study will attempt to utilize the experiences of schools experimenting with modular scheduling in order to establish guidelines for administrators who wish to promote innovative scheduling in their own districts. It is the purpose of this study to show that modular scheduling is possible and can offer added benefits for any school district.
