Reliability And Validity Of The Thematic Apperception Test Scored By The Discomfort-Relief Quotient, Donald W. Culbertson

The purpose of this study was to investigate scorer reliability of the Discomfort-Relief Quotient (DRQ) method of scoring applied to the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT). A second aim was to investigate some of the interrelationships between Tension, as measured by DRQ, and (1) Grade Point Averages, (2) Number of Quarters spent at CWCE, (3) Practice Teaching Ratings, and (4) First-Year Teaching success.

It was the purpose of this study to (1) supply a starting point for succeeding salary committees in their efforts to construct future salary schedules; (2) show the difference between other districts’ salary schedules and the haphazard methods used in this district to determine teachers’ and administrators’ salaries; (3) bring the Upper Snoqualmie Valley School District’s certified employees’ salaries in line with other districts’ schedules, the Washington Education Association’s proposed schedule, the King county Co-ordinating Council’s proposed schedule, and the national trend towards better and higher salaries for teachers....

Introduction: The superintendents of several public school systems in East Tennessee met during the summer of 1959 to form an organization for the purpose of improving public schools through cooperative study and research. This organization was named "Public Schools for Cooperative Research" and soon came to be known as "PSCR." For a number of years such an organization had been the topic of many informal discussions in which superintendents visualized its possibilities and potentialities. Introduction: This thesis reports the evolution of the Rhea County School System from 1806 to 1960. The development of education begins with the early history of the county. The study shows the rise of private schools and academies. The beginning and growth of free elementary school and the beginning and development of secondary schools and colleges are shown.

There is no organized recorded history of education in Rhea County. There are very few early records pertaining to the development and operation of the schools in the county and those in existence are not readily available for use. As time passes ...

The Purpose of the Study

The teaching of physics in the high school has been modified over the years to meet the changing needs of students and to include the developments of modern times. Together with these changes there has been in recent years much controversy concerning the purpose and value of laboratory work that accompanies the course. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between achievement in high-school physics and the amount of laboratory work that may be included.
