Role Playing As A Means Of Selecting Administrators, Charles Warren Hartsell
Role Playing As A Means Of Selecting Administrators, Charles Warren Hartsell
Doctoral Dissertations
Introduction: In view of the constant search for competent administrators on all levels of school administration, there is a need for defining the personal and operational characteristics which will indicate to an employer how a person will react in a given set of circumstances, particularly those which are related to the specific position involved. For example, how would a principal go about dealing with a parent whose child has been suspended from school for disciplinary reasons? How can we know, beforehand, whether an individual will be a good or a poor administrator? Industry has developed time and motion studies for …

Survey Of Changes In Function Of The College-Controlled Laboratory School From 1948 To 1958, Lawrence Howard Nuzum
Doctoral Dissertations
The trend toward more practical and functional education for both elementary-school and secondary-school children and their teachers has produced renewed attention to the function of the college-controlled laboratory school. As defined by Caswell, this institution is
. . . a school largely or entirely under the control of the college, located on or near the college campus, organized for the specific purpose of preparing teachers, with staff and facilities designed to serve this purpose.

An Evaluation Of Certain Areas Of Physical Education Service Programs Of Selected White And Negro Colleges In Tennessee, John Ralph Puckett
Doctoral Dissertations
During World War II inadequacies in physical education programs in the United States were clearly revealed. A study of the physical fitness of men in the Army Air Force disclosed that almost one-half of the inductees were in poor or very poor condition. The Army and Navy testing programs also revealed that a large percentage of inductees was in poor physical condition. These test results did not include the numerous persons who were rejected from military service for various reasons.
Most of the men displayed poor performance in basic motor skills such as jumping, falling and lifting. It was also …

A Suggested Ten Day Practice Itinerary For Coaching Football In The Junior High School Prior To The First Competitive Game /, Leon Orwin Roberts
Graduate Student Research Papers
The author's purpose in writing this paper was to establish a practice itinerary of methods and techniques he feels can be used to field a competitively sound team in the junior high school. Due to the brief practice time alloted and the lack of football knowledge and experience normally found in the junior high school, a ten day practice itinerary has been set up to teach only the essential fundamentals of football.
