The movement towards providing person-centered care has been a topic of interest in the medical community, however, little is known about the facilitation of person-centered care in the field of speech-language pathology. Current literature indicates that speech-language pathologists typical follow the medical model of diagnosing and treating patients. The purpose of this study was to analyze employment outcomes and leadership practices of graduates from a Leadership Excellence for Middle Managers program conducted at a state-operated university from 2007 to 2014. The target population of the leadership development program graduates included representatives from the public and private sector, males and females, and various age groups. The study was conducted as a Kirkpatrick (1994) level two training evaluation—focusing on the change that occurred after completion of the training program. The context of the study was assessment of whether corrections officers in Appalachia are receiving adequate health and safety training who attended health and safety trainings sessions provided by the OSHA Training Institute and Education Center on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University. Participants included in the study were corrections officers who have been working in corrections for a minimum of two years. Technology-based training solutions are increasingly being utilized by organizations to achieve training objectives at lower costs as compared to traditional instructor-led training (ILT).
