O Currículo De 1899 De Epitácio Pessoa [The 1899 Curriculum Of Epitácio Pessoa], Karl M. Lorenz, Ariclê Vechia
Karl M Lorenz
From Libertarianism To Egalitarianism, Justin Schwartz
From Libertarianism To Egalitarianism, Justin Schwartz
Justin Schwartz
A standard natural rights argument for libertarianism is based on the labor theory of property: the idea that I own my self and my labor, and so if I "mix" my own labor with something previously unowned or to which I have a have a right, I come to own the thing with which I have mixed by labor. This initially intuitively attractive idea is at the basis of the theories of property and the role of government of John Locke and Robert Nozick. Locke saw and Nozick agreed that fairness to others requires a proviso: that I leave "enough …

Heriberto Godina PhD
This review of research examines improving educational curriculum through reflective practice influenced by minority culture. Examples of Chicano and indigenous culture are cited. The implications of a poorly educated and growing minority group population indicate the need for reflective awareness in curriculum and challenges the established policies imposed by the majority culture. Reflective qualitative research, and holistic education is perceived to be a viable solution to the inadequate curriculum imposed upon minority culture.

Specific kinds of educational experiences provided for children by both parents and teachers from preschool through high school were examined to document the effects, if any, on reading achievement during the course of development. Findings indicated that early childhood experiences were particularly important to literacy development and early reading instruction, in particular, are key factors in the reading competency of high school seniors.

Using Adult Learning Techniques In Adult Education Conferences, John A. Henschke Edd
John A. Henschke
Conversation abounds regarding the importance of conducing adult education conference through using adult learning techniques which are consistent with what is known about how adults learn. Many professionals already successfully implement this naturally, and experience very positive feedback and results. But many still struggle with the question, "Why don't we practice on ourselves what we say we believe about adult learning?" The question this paper seeks to explore is: Since the field is not very systematic in this, what needs to happen if it is to change? Much published literature suggests various designs and techniques for making the transition, even …
