On May 8, 1975 the New England Foundation for Osteopathic Medicine (NEFOM) and Saint Francis College signed a Memorandum of Agreement creating the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, which would become the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and an undergraduate college which would become the University of New England.
