Mathematics self-efficacy has been shown to be a strong predictor of mathematics performance and mixed results have been found when examining the mathematics self-efficacy of face-to-face students based on gender and age. However, there is a lack of research studies that examine if differences exist in the mathematics self-efficacy of face-to-face and online students. The purpose of this ex-post facto causal comparative quantitative study was to determine if differences existed in the mathematics self-efficacy of Quantitative Literacy students, as measured by the Mathematics Self-Efficacy Scale, based on their choice of delivery method (face-to-face or online). No research has been conducted on college students in developmental mathematics classes struggling with both mathematics anxiety and computer anxiety in a qualitative manner. Prior studies have dealt with college students in developmental mathematics classes struggling with mathematics anxiety and college students in developmental mathematics classes struggling with computer anxiety. The purpose of this hermeneutic phenomenological study was to describe how students experience success in mathematics remediation at a four-year private institution in the central United States. Success in a remedial mathematics course was defined as one’s completion of a required remedial mathematics course having earned an overall grade of 90% or higher. The theories guiding this study were achievement goal theory and expectancy-value theory grounded in Bandura’s social cognitive theory. The purpose of this correlation study was to identify a possible relationship between elementary teacher background in mathematics as measured by completed college math credit hours, district-provided professional development hours of training in Common Core math standards, and years of teaching experience, and teacher efficacy in math as measured by personal teaching self efficacy and outcome expectancy. The sample in the present study consisted of 69 elementary (K-5) math teachers in a medium-sized semi-rural district located within a southern state. The purpose of this phenomenological study is to understand the experiences of peer tutoring in junior-level nursing students, as well as the perceptions of increased self-efficacy and overall benefit to student learning. The proposed study included 10 nursing students enrolled in the residential Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at a large private university in the Southeast United States. Current literature suggests the rise of enrollment among United States (U.S.) postsecondary institutions but the decline in graduation rates. While there is extensive quantitative data examining course redesigns and increasing student achievement in developmental math courses, there is limited research examining students' experiences and perceptions within these courses. Exploring Relationships Among Teaching Styles, Teachers' Perceptions Of Their Self-Efficacy And Students' Mathematics Achievement, Christi Davis-Langston

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among elementary school teachers' teaching styles, their perceptions of self-efficacy in teaching mathematics, and student mathematics achievement. Analysis of data collected from 95 teachers found small to moderate correlations between teaching style and measures of mathematics achievement. No statistically significant relationships were found between elementary school teachers' self-efficacy and students' mathematics achievement levels. Mathematics achievement (numbers and operations, geometry, and percentage of students who exceeded standards on the CRCT) was predicted by teaching styles (delegator, facilitator, and expert). Although the relationships were statistically significant, little variance in achievement was explained …
