This chapter applies a crisis management plan to a specific type of crisis: the death of an international student. It explores the crisis from the view of accidental death, murder, and suicide. It identifies the stakeholders: institutional, community, and agrieved. It reviews specific actions that can be taken to reach a closure of the crisis.

This chapter identifies a framework for understanding and acting on a crisis involving international students in the U.S. or an institution's students in a study abroad program. It identifies components of a crisis and elements needed in a crisis management plan.
