In the 19th century Kentucky was at the crossroads of western migration and expansion. We believe this collection will demonstrate, along with earlier anthologies, that the Commonwealth is once again becoming the epicenter of literary output. Too often the media paint a picture of America as a bi-coastal country with little in between. One message from New Growth is that there are other, important voices that will be heard.
