Community colleges serve diverse populations including LGB emerging adults who are attempting to find their place within society. Through a thematic analysis of narrative interviews and a focus group we found on one, rural campus there is a culture of isolation, which may limit individuals growth both personally and academically.

Empirical civic engagement research based in a South American context. Participants included adult learner populations engaged in revolutionary protests that opposed private for-profit education in Chile. Findings were higher order Spiral Dynamic Theory thinking at the for-profits and lower civic engagement.

The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of ten Black primary caregiving grandmothers in rural communities within the state of Texas to understand how they learn to develop social capital to navigate inequitable systems and acquire resources for themselves and the grandchildren in their care. The application of qualitative inquiry was essential as it best supported the probing necessary to explore the phenomenon of African American grandmothers raising grandchildren.
