The particle transport simulation is designed to help students gain a deeper level of understanding of the relationship between velocity and particle size. Students will be able to manipulate the velocity and particle size to see if the particle will move. The mathematical component will require the students to construct a particle graph using the simulator and Earth Science Reference Table (ESRT).

The purpose of this research is to examine the attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions of college level students enrolled in an algebra course at the community college level. A survey was given to measure mathematical attitudes, beliefs, and math anxiety. Significant findings were found when looking at the difference in prior mathematics courses, repeating college algebra, enrollment status, gender, and age. By identifying the preconceived notions and beliefs that students have about mathematics and their academic ability, a teacher can use this knowledge to better meet the needs of students.

This project illustrates a process of designing curriculum for the study of quadratics in Algebra 1, in alignment with the Common Core State Standards in mathematics. The process incorporates the body of research on student conceptions of quadratics and available techniques and technologies for the enhancement of student conceptions. The students use the TI-84 to create graphs and tables for several power models (y = ax2 , y = ax3 …etc) to learn the general shape of the curves and identify the patterns in the tables. In addition, they compare and contrast these tables and graphs to linear and exponential models. The widespread availability of information requires people to know a lot more than was necessary in the past to qualify as educated citizens. Population growth, however, has made it difficult for education systems to meet their students’ learning needs. This paper examines changes in education methods, focusing on technology-based learning, or “teaching machines”. The researcher evaluated "programed learning” by juxtaposing two 9th grade algebra classes—a 30 member experimental group and a 32 member control group.
