In comparing and contrasting two plots we can see to what extent they illuminate one another. Therefore, some of the plays used in this paper have been analyzed by comparison and contrast to suggest the application of this study, which is mainly a definition of double plotting and an analyzation of it to show the different kinds of double plotting.

It is the purpose of this paper (1) to analyze the separate writings of a rhetorician and a journalist who both criticized selected campaign addresses of Franklin D. Roosevelt, (2) to discover the differences in the critical products derived from different purposes and methods, and (3) to describe these differences and possibly interpret them as examples which lead to the varying evaluations of rhetorical and journalistic criticism.

Reading has long been recognized as a necessary skill but only recently has there been much interest in listening skills even though listening is the most frequently used language activity. Within the past decade many studies have indicated that listening ability correlates highly with intelligence, vocabulary, and report card grades, and some investigators claim that listening training will improve listening ability. If listening ability correlates positively with report card grades then listening training should aid academic achievement.

It was the purpose of the study (1) to evaluate the use of a token reinforcement system in modifying the attending behavior of a distractible child; (2) to demonstrate a technique which a teacher may find useful in helping the distractible child learn to manage his own attention; and (3) to show the relationship between attending behavior and academic performance.

Attitudes Of College Freshmen And Sophomores Toward Interfaith, Interracial, And Intercultural Marriage, Marie O'Connor

The purpose of the study was to determine by questionnaire the attitudes of college freshmen and sophomores toward marriage to another of different religion, race, and/or cultural background, and to determine whether the findings compare with the findings of previous studies. Results of previous studies indicate that today's students are more willing to marry persons of different faith, race, and/or cultural background. Jacks' study (to be described later) in particular shows students more accepting of interfaith marriages.
