Purpose: This study explores the effectiveness of remote contouring training for therapeutic radiology in three Sub-Saharan African countries (Nigeria, Tanzania, Cameroon) using a web-based platform (ProKnow).

Methods and Materials: A 2-hour real-time video didactic lecture and demonstration of the left parotid tumor contouring on axial CT images was delivered using the ProKnow system and a video conferencing software. Participants were granted week-long access to practice contouring of the left parotid volume after the session. Counting credit hours is not an equitable way to measure faculty workload in physical therapy education considering online delivery with heavy workloads negatively impacting satisfaction, learning outcomes, and research productivity. The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) is a graduate-level institution in the United States, with seven Doctor of Physical Therapy programs offered in four US locations. Education has been found to be an important strategy for increasing STI testing and treatment rates among sexually active young adults. Objective: There is a dearth of research into the quality of assessments based on Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) items in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). This dataset was generated to determine whether MCQ item writing flaws existed in a selection of MOOC assessments, and to evaluate their prevalence if so. Hence, researchers reviewed MCQs from a sample of MOOCs, using an evaluation protocol derived from the medical health education literature, which has an extensive evidence-base with regard to writing quality MCQ items.

THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A RELIABLE METHOD FOR EDUCATING PROVIDERS ON STROKE DISCHARGE ORDER SETS

After receiving a comprehensive stroke certification from the Joint Commission, an academic tertiary care medical center created and revised 15 stroke order sets to ensure providers could easily place the correct orders for every stroke patient. Following certification, it was noted that there was inconsistent use of these order sets. This mixed methods exploratory study examined the effects of two types of feedback – Peer and Expert Map – on Concept Maps used as learning tools in a statistics classroom. Of interest were possible effects of feedback on Concept Map structure (determined by structural scores), on structural classification (Discrete, Integrated), and on student choice of starting concept (General, Specific). Student perceptions of feedback and the role of mapping in statistics learning were elicited using a 12-item questionnaire. Two open-ended responses were coded by themes. Its goal is to facilitate community-driven improvement of a small rural community in the Dominican Republic, Las Malvinas II.
