Social media use is rapidly growing among adolescents, studies cite that the rates of “constant use” doubled from 2015 to 2018 (Anderson & Jiang, 2018; Lenhart, 2015). There is research that shows the impact of physical activity and sport on the health of individuals participating. However, there is an area of research that is lacking regards to the impact of team sports on mental health, specifically amongst youth. Therefore, the purpose of this synthesis was to review the literature on the effects of team sports on mental health in youth and adolescents. Research has shown that there is a positive correlation between participation in a team sport and overall mental health in youth. Despite the amount of evidence, there still needs to be additional research conducted.

This synthesis highlights the impact that resistance training has on adolescent high school athletes. More specifically, the review of literature examined the appropriate methodologies in programming for athletes and coaches, the physiological responses experienced by the athlete, and the sport-specific training outcomes experienced as a result. The synthesis used eleven peer-reviewed, scholarly articles that researched resistance training effects on adolescent athletes. Results demonstrated that most of adaptation that occurs because of program participation is primarily neuromuscular. Interprofessional collaboration among school-based and community-based mental health providers in children's mental has been studied in relation to specific providers and as part of program evaluation; however, limited information exists as to how to overcome barriers to collaborative relationships. This study describes the experiences of school and community mental health service providers and those who supervise them. Using phenomenological methodology, three focus-group interview transcripts were analyzed by identifying recurrent themes relevant to the experience of collaboration from school and community providers' perspectives. This synthesis highlights the available physical activity interventions/programs for children with Down syndrome. More specifically, the literature review examined evidence-based research in the areas of dance and movement, balance and stability, two-wheel bicycle, strength and agility and barriers and facilitators. The literature review used peer-reviewed and scholarly articles in order to examine the most effective physical activity intervention/programs for children with Down syndrome. Introduction: A growing body of research suggests mindfulness-based classroom interventions are an effective, low cost approach to reducing the effects of toxic stress among youth. The purpose of the present study is to conduct a secondary qualitative analysis to examine parent, teacher, and high school adolescents’ perceptions of social support for physical activity (PA) for high schoolers in Southern Appalachia. Social support for PA is linked to higher rates of PA participation in adolescents. Parents, siblings, and peers provide key sources of support. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate student feedback of the 2015 Lifelines Suicide Prevention Program at Jessie Clark Middle School. Student feedback was examined by assessing students’ knowledge of suicide, attitudes toward suicide, knowledge of when and from whom to seek help if feeling suicidal or told by a friend that they are suicidal, and impressions of the educational presentation following participation in the Lifelines Suicide Prevention Program.
