Education correlates with nurse performance and avoiding mental fatigue. This project attempted to answer the question, “Educating nurses on mental fatigue will increase knowledge” focusing on educating rehabilitative nurses regarding mental fatigue. The project was guided by the Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate model. Twenty rehabilitative nurses were administered a pretest consisting of 10 multiple-choice test questions. They received education on mental fatigue through PowerPoint presentations and handouts. After completing the education, participants were administered a posttest with the same 10 questions. An evaluation tool consisting of six questions was completed measuring an increase in knowledge after the posttest. …

AbstractHypertension (HTN) is a frequent diagnosis in primary care settings and is disproportionately higher among African Americans. Observed in the clinic were frequent office visits by patients with uncontrolled blood pressure and nonadherence to medication in an outpatient cardiology clinic in Northeast New Jersey. Also, a knowledge gap was noticed among clinical staff on current HTN guidelines. An awareness of evidence-based guidelines was necessary to combat poorly controlled BP in the clinic. Nursing faculty must be effective educators, active nurse researchers, and practicing nurse experts. Feelings of impostor phenomenon (IP), defined as emotions of fraudulence, can lead to faculty deficiencies both as educators and scholars. The purpose of this three-manuscript dissertation, guided by Weiner’s attribution theory, was to determine differences in IP by teaching level, teaching experience, and gender among nursing faculty. A two-tailed t-test was used to analyze data collected from 164 participants who completed the Clance impostor phenomenon scale. The purpose of this basic qualitative study was to understand nurse educators’ perceptions of the challenges in preparing for simulation-based training experiences for nurses and nursing students. Vygotsky’s constructivist theory was used as the conceptual framework for the study to emphasize students’ innate ability to learn using active and hands-on processes through simulation experiences. AbstractCatheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) are infections that happen in the urinary tract in men and women when foley catheterization is not done using strict aseptic techniques. Bacteria can then travel up the urinary catheter into the bladder; therefore, contaminating urine in the bladder. This project site’s nursing staff was experiencing a lack of knowledge regarding CAUTI prevention.
