In the West African country of Burkina Faso, soil erosion has long been a concern. The national government has perceived soil erosion a problem for over a quarter of a century. Although institutional support and practices to control the severity of soil erosion are available, attempts to address the problem have met with limited success. The purpose of this research was to investigate the interrelations among and between indicators of nutritional status, living environment, and school performance of first through third grade primary school children living in low socioeconomic areas in Khartoum, Sudan. Subjects were 198 first through third grade males and females enrolled in six primary schools in three urban, low socioeconomic areas of Khartoum. An agricultural electronics course was developed for the Agricultural Systems Technology degree program at Iowa State University. Resources utilized in the curriculum development process were course syllabi from other institutions and the input of industry experts;Twenty-seven institutions were contacted to determine the current status of agricultural electronics education in American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) recognized agricultural technology and management curricula.
