This study examined efforts to establish and sustain collaborative educational partnerships across multiple sectors to support the resolution of complex community challenges related to skilled workforce gaps. Much attention has been placed on the politics, structures, and outcomes of such efforts, but there has been a lack of information on the relationships involved—especially within local contexts. This qualitative research project aimed to provide a comprehensive review of a deficiency in foreign direct investment (FDI) in Tacoma, the causes of that insufficiency, and the possible resolutions that could change the stagnation and attract more FDI. By analyzing the data collected mainly via interviews and survey, the paper revealed reasons Tacoma has lagged behind other similar cities in attracting FDI, where the gaps exist, and what kinds of educational programs could be applied to enhance the FDI literacy and competency. Generally Japanese society does not value or encourage self-promotion. Therefore, Japanese corporations are generally quiet about corporate social responsibility (CSR). One Japanese multinational manufacturer of seasoning, Ajinomoto, does not fall into this category. Unlike the majority of the Japanese business community, Ajinomoto trumpets their CSR in the public sector. The Relationship Between Students’ Attitude Toward Business Ethics And Academic Misbehaviors, Sohyoun Shin

This paper attempts to expand the current research area which has explored the association between students’ academic dishonesty (i.e., exam cheating or plagiarism/fabrication) and attitude toward business ethics, by empirically testing the relationships between students’ undesirable academic behaviors (i.e., disrespectful behaviors or slacker behaviors) and their perception of business ethics. The results based on 133 surveys from the students enrolled in the business program at a northwestern regional comprehensive university, show that there are positive relationships between the focal constructs.
